The German mint stores the German euro coins. These coins are circulation coins and are used in daily payment transactions. Marks were minted for the euro coins. These were introduced in 1871. This was the period when all German states were united under the German king. Before that, all mutual agreements were closed. This arose because it turned out that the relatively small states or principalities could not defend themselves sufficiently against major powers. Think of Napoleon's conquests. During the period of the principalities and therefore before the merger of Germany, coins were minted in each individual state and also in monasteries separately. This makes it attractive for collectors to collect coins because the history is represented in the coins. The mint also mints commemorative coins in addition to the circulation coins. The German coins as an investment form is also a fact. The issue is miraculously a literal counterpart to the silver Chinese panda coins. Just not so well known worldwide.
